Lock & Paddle 2026

Join Parks Canada and the Trent-Severn Waterway for Lock & Paddle 2026 at the historic Peterborough Lift Lock on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 12 PM to 4 PM. Experience this unique paddling event from the water and explore one of Canada's most iconic engineering landmarks. Kawartha Adventure Rentals will be offering canoe and kayak rentals with free event delivery*. Space on our delivery trailer is limited, so reserve early to secure your rental.

Rent a Canoe – Plant a Tree

Nature is at the heart of every canoe trip, and we want to do our part to protect it. That's why we've started our Rent a Canoe - Plant a Tree initiative. Every time you rent a canoe from us, we'll plant a tree, at no extra cost to you. Trees are planted in and around the Kawarthas to help restore forests, support wildlife, and give back to the land we paddle on. By renting a canoe from us, you'll be directly helping support local reforestation.

Soon we'll be inviting local landowners to suggest tree-planting locations. We're also planning to offer free trees for people to plant on their own properties. Contact us if you'd like to get involved.

We believe every canoe trip should leave a positive mark, and with your help we'll be planting hundreds of trees every year! Rent a canoe - plant a tree!
